Mynah's days out!
Hey guys! π
Hoping you all are great. π
In todays blog, I will be telling to you about 10 days of my life. One of the coolest and most unreal days!
That's the thing that made those 10 days super crazy and adventurous!-- A MYNAH
How many people get to have a mynah in the house during lockdown? Better than that this mynah was not a pet!!
So it was morning of 17th of May. My mom went to the balcony to water the plants when she found something, well not a thing but a bird. She called me to see it for two reasons-
- I have never seen a bird so close.
- I love nature!
This is how it was the first day we saw it.
When my dad woke up (he wakes quite late), my mom told him about the mynah. If you don't know my dad, he always loves any sort of animal or bird, further more I guess insects too π. So he decided to make a nest and place it there. Well this time I was in class. After class I saw the bird in it's new nest.
I think this is a good nest by a human (c'mon it was first try)
So it stayed there. Then a new terror started- CATS! Cats always walked by, but I think this bird is really lucky. Not even a single cat spotted it. But kites did.
2-3 days later, when I was in class, I heard the mother bird scream (more like whatever sound they make), my mom making worried sound and my dad being a little heroic. It was my luck that time, I got disconnected from class. So I used the opportunity to ask my parents.
They said, "I think the kite took it away!"
I literally felt my heart do an aerial. My eyes were slightly filled with tears.
My mom said me to go attend my class, but I still kept thinking of the bird. After class dismissed, I ran to the balcony where my parents were still making sure the bird wasn't caught. And as I mentioned earlier the bird's luck is so lucky, the bird was lying between two pots (it was SAFE!). My dad gently picked it up and put it back in it's nest. But due to fear the bird wouldn't sit it kept jumping out. After a while, it calmed down.
Wanna see the mother feed the child. It was quite hard to get the videos, because if there is a slight movement the mother would go away. There is a routine of the baby bird- sleep-eat-sleep-eat and so on.
Sorry for the bad quality (it's the fault of the mosquito netπ€£)
So in a few more days the bird got the interest to start to fly, my dad felt it was too small to fly. My mom was encouraging the bird (thought I think it didn't know).
It kept jumping out of the nest. It was pretty scary, as I mentioned the cats and kites!
One day I didn't see the bird in it's nest. I called my mom. Now she too was worried. We were pretty sure it got caught by the kite. The kite was too smart for us. I was panicking. I ran into the balcony but didn't see it. Later my mom through her 'ULTRA SUPER VISION'π saw the bird sitting on the pot.
My mom told me, "maybe it tried to fly but fell down. At least it is safe."
The bird did this many times. All I have to say is, it is a true HEART ATTACK GIVER❕
This is one of the missions accomplished by the mynah before it climbed on branches!
One day, I didn't see the bird again. My dad told me not to worry and said, "it is sitting on one of the branches of the bougainvillea plant. I went and saw it sitting like the king of mynahs π€£ (let me remind you, it was just a baby).
So there it was π
I was still panicking. I asked my dad to bring it in. He asked me," why?"
I feared the cats. What if they saw the bird. My dad told me not to worry, he said that he will look at that, plus let the bird feel good. (It was in a kind of bedrest in the starting few days, so my dad thought it was great achievement that the bird is sitting on a branch).
Then it all grew dark, the bird was still n the branch. Then the worst I feared took place. Now it was raining, it was dark and the bird was not sitting on the branch but on the grill. The red grill you see in the pic above. I told my dad to get it in. He went to get it. But it wouldn't bulge. It sat there with a lot of pressure. My dad was scared to pull it off as it was super delicate. This was all fine, but then a cat came. Me and my brother started shooing it away. My dad hid the bird in his palms. And once again the birds luck, the cat hadn't seen anything.
The best in all this was the cats expression, as it hadn't seen the bird and we were shooing it away, it was completely confused. π΅π€ͺ
Finally on the 10th day since its arrival it began to try flying. And alas it waited for all of us to come (me-bro-mom-dad) and watch it. It didn't fly up in the sky but it did glide. And then it was gone with the remaining of the family. I felt bad, the mynah had become kind of an obsession. It was the first time (till now) I saw a bird grow and even touched it. Let me tell you the bird was as soft as velvet.
