ROAMING RAJASTHAN: me and a guide
Yo! How about a font change. huh? Yeah! lets do it.
This is the only place where I can have a verrrryy neat handwritingπ. This is so brilliant of me. I love it!
This is another part of my Rajasthan trip. The trip was of 10 days and it was amazing. It was my first time in the north (that I remember of).
We visited a fort named Chittorgarh Fort. In all these heritage sited you find guides that won't leave you no matter what.π
"Madam, guide chahiye?"
"Guide le lo na madam"
"Rupees 300 for three"
Now hearing this, my mom goes, "300!! crazy or what?"π²
We told we didn't want a guide and moved on. But, the dude still kept following us. It got to a limit where he reduced the money to rupees 50! His constant stalking got creepy and that didn't allow us to enjoy the place well. And guess what- they wanted 300 only to show us where Meera Bai drank poison.π
Wow! The whole place was so big and insane. It was mostly ruins but still mesmerizing. You should visit it. But I found the outside borders more pretty.
Anyway, coming back, I will remind you the guide didn't leave us. So I told my mom, "Can I handle this?" She was confused and nodded in approval. I was like, lets show the real Evelin Jaison now.
I walk up to the guide with full ⁂confidence⁂ like Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada and he saw me and asked, yet again, "Madam guide loge?" and I said, "Sir, Can you explain everything in Malayalam?" (I asked in english) and his face lost its colour. He replied, "I can explain in hindi or english" I said, "NO... only malayalam." I also added in malayalam, "enikya malayalam matrum manaslavoollu" (meaning : I only understand malayalam) Which is a big lie because I don't understand much malayalamπ. He tried convincing me by saying he would speak slow english. But I blabbered a bunch of malayalam words I knew. I also said, "My best language is malayalam" in english, but he didn't catch it (I guess). And God! it worked. He left. I did feel sorry, but what to do?
Now my mom feels really sorry for that dude. Me too. But otherwise the trip was awesome.
Let me share a pic that we clicked at the fort.
Tataaaaaa

DeleteGood trick! any of the monuments you go there are a lot of unauthorized guides. Have to learn to manage them. Never thought of using Malayalam to avert them! I will borrow this trick next time :) - Beji Uncle!
